Ikaalinen Spa & Resort is a spa and holiday destination located on the shores of Lake Kyrösjärvi in Pirkanmaa, where everyday relaxation is combined with accommodation services, a spa, diverse activities and events from sauna rituals to concerts by top artists.
Ikaalinen Spa & Resort was renovated in 2021. The goal of the renovation was to differentiate itself with the idea that there would always be something new for visitors. This idea also gave rise to the new Sauna World Utu and Finland’s first Aufguss sauna.
– FirstView did a great job with this project. We had a tight schedule to move this project forward. From the beginning, the collaboration with them was relaxed and very forward-looking. We had a specific destination, which we eventually achieved; namely excellent and high-quality sound environments for our saunas.

Initially, the atmosphere of the saunas relied largely on visual elements, and the new Sauna World Utu wanted to bring more experientiality through sound. The goal was to create high-quality soundscapes in the various saunas in Utu.
Based on the acoustics of the premises and the atmosphere of the saunas, fully customized soundscapes were designed for three different saunas: the Salt Sauna, the Tropical Sauna and the Aufguss Sauna. The soundscape designed for the Aufguss Sauna also changes with the seasons, for example, the summer soundscape takes guests to the shores of Lake Kyrösjärvi.
Soundscapes can be easily scheduled and updated according to seasons and events.
The end result was soundscapes that support the visual appearance and atmosphere of the saunas. The changing soundscapes give guests something new to experience with every visit.
– The soundscapes support the atmosphere of our saunas beautifully. Another great benefit is that the soundscapes are constantly evolving – even if a customer has visited us more than once, there is always something new to look forward to. Despite the tight schedule, FirstView implemented the soundscapes for our saunas with high quality, says Juha Lehtinen.
